Family Orientations
We periodically invite families and their children who have experienced the death of a parent (spouse) or sibling (child) to come and learn more about The Children’s Room support groups.
Adults meet with the program director to learn about the program and application process. Children meet with staff and program volunteers to learn about what happens in a group and explore the house, visiting some of the rooms, including the art room, high energy room, teen room, and game room.
The orientations are usually scheduled on Fridays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Contact michele@childrensroom.org with inquiries or to sign up for an orientation.
Community Tours

Sunday Night Discussion Series Hosted by our Parents Alumni Group
After losing a loved one, there are topics that are difficult to discuss with people who have not experienced something similar. This discussion series hosted by the Parent Alumni Group creates a forum for these conversations. Discussions are held at the house on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30. Please visit the Parent Alumni Group page for the latest schedule.
Educational Workshop Series
Our workshops offer practical information, strategies, and tools that will help professionals who work with children. This series features five workshops: four focused on a specific age group, and the fifth for crisis management. All sessions run from 9:0am-4:00pm at our house in Arlington. Arrangements can be made for off-site workshop, trainings, and private consultations. Please visit our Workshops page for description, schedule, and registration information.
