Spring-Summer Workshop Series - March-July 2010
Our workshops offer practical information, strategies, and tools that will help you address any stressful life event. This series features four workshops, each with two scheduled dates.  All sessions run from 9:30am-4:30pm.

Teens in Transition: Understanding the Challenges of Loss in Adolescents – March 6 and May 22

If We Lost Uncle David, Why Can’t We Go Find Him? Strategies for Talking with Young Children about Death, Dying and Loss – March 13 and July 19

Fostering Resiliency in Children Coping with Death, Illness and Other Losses – March 20 and July 20

Supporting Young Adults Coping with Loss – April 3 and July 21

Workshops are held in our house in Arlington, and are open to all.

* Sunday Night Discussion Series Hosted by our Parents Alumni Group
After losing a loved one, there are topics that are difficult to discuss with people who have not experienced something similar. The discussion series creates a forum for these conversations.

Helping Your Teenager Through Their Loss - March 7

Discussions are held at the house on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00. Please RSVP.

* Wednesday Evening Drop-In Discussion Groups

Our parent alumni group, who have been through our program, will be hosting a series of informal discussion evenings. We hope these Wednesday evening discussion groups will be especially supportive for parents and guradians of families on our waitlist. Please RSVP to kim@childrensroom.org to help us best prepare for these meetings. Light refreshments will be served. We apologize that we are not able to offer childcare at this time.

 We look forward to drop-in discussions on the these dates: March 10, April 14, and May 12.  We will be meeting at the house from 7:00-8:30pm.

* Open House to Learn More About the Manitou Experience – March 28, 2010, 5:00pm
Please join us for the opportunity to learn about this free one-week summer camp program for boys who have experienced a significant death-loss.  The Manitou Experience takes place at Camp Manitou (Oakland, ME) in August. Teen Performance Troupe Season Premier - February 7, 2010, 7:00pm
The Teen Performance Troupe has written an original show about grief in the lives of teens. Each of the performers is a teen who has experienced the death of a family member, and they have worked to incorporate their personal stories into an innovative performance.  Please join us at the Arlington Center for the Arts.
