Martin’s Personal Appeal
Dear Friends,
I first walked into The Children’s Room many years ago while looking for a charitable organization to raise money for after signing up for my first marathon. I had no idea that walking in those doors would have such an impact on my life. At that time The Children’s Room had just moved into their new home in Arlington and I was simply amazed by their mission and the support system they had in place with regard to the staff and volunteers. Walking through that house really put things in perspective for me and I knew at that moment that this was an organization that I wanted to be a part of.
Over the years I have been involved with a few charitable events for The Children’s Room and time and again you, my friends and family, have come out to support this wonderful organization making each event more successful than I ever could have hoped for.
Once again I reach out to you all for your generous support. I am honored to have been chosen as a runner for the first ever Children’s Room Boston Marathon Team 2011 and look forward to running on behalf of the organization that has inspired me so much over years. As part of being a member of this team I am hoping to do my part in the fundraising efforts.
My target goal for the marathon is six thousand dollars which will help support four children in the program for one year. I know that I have asked a lot of you all in the past but hope that you will once again help in my efforts to reach my goal by donating to this worthwhile cause.
