Our 13th Annual Memories Walk

Sunday, October 23, 2016

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday, October 23, and everyone who supported us for our 13th Annual Memories Walk!

The sun was bright, the sky was clear, and we felt a strong sense of community as we walked together up Mass. Ave. to celebrate TCR and to remember those in our lives who have died.

Phyllis Silverman’s family (above left) was joined by our Board President Michael Nagle (top left), cofounders Judy Oliver and Jean Marchant (center), and treasured volunteers.

We dedicated this year’s walk to the memory of one of our founders, Dr. Phyllis Silverman, whose groundbreaking work in the bereavement field lives on. It was a special honor that Phyllis’s family could join us for this year’s Memories Walk.

We send a big thank you to TCR alum Katie Gorczyca for sharing her poignant personal story during the opening remarks.

We simply could not do this vital work without the support of our entire community, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year’s event such a resounding success. Thanks to you, we were able to raise over $85,000 to support the hope-giving programs of The Children’s Room.

We were so grateful to share this wonderful day with so many of you. Thank you for gathering with us in support of our mission to create safe, caring communities, so that no child, teen, or family has to grieve alone.

If you have any questions about our Memories Walk, please contact Becca at walk@childrensroom.org or 781-641-4741 x334.
