Workshops and Training
As the leading non-profit in Massachusetts serving grieving children, teens and families, our staff provides workshops, trainings and lectures on how to help grieving families.
Upcoming Volunteer Training
Twice a year we provide training for volunteers interested in serving as facilitators in our groups. For more information related to this thirty hour course, visit the Volunteer Section.
In-Service Training for Current Volunteers
Volunteers in our program enjoy special workshops from leading practitioners in the field of bereavement. This training is provided to volunteers free of charge as part of our on-going commitment to our volunteers.
Teen Performance Troupe
This outreach program consists of a group of teens from The Children’s Room who have created their own authentic performance that describes their personal experiences in both poignant and humorous ways. The troupe program runs from late Fall through Spring with performances typically starting in February. They are available to perform at schools - for student or faculty, at conferences, for graduate school programs - any audience that would benefit from this unique perspective on an all too common experience. The program typically runs for about forty-five minutes plus thirty minutes for a Q&A and discussion period. More information is available.
Parenting Through Grief Workshops
These parent to parent workshops are led by “alumni” parents who offer their experiences and insights in an informal discussion setting. Here firsthand from parents who have “been there”. Our upcoming schedule is now available.
Other Training
We welcome the opportunity to post trainings or workshops from our colleagues. Here is a list of current and past trainings.
