Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund is a giving account established at a recognized public charity. Donors create the fund with the charitable institution, make a contribution, and can receive an immediate tax deduction. The donor recommends grants from their DAF account to their favorite charities over time, when the donor wants, and for the amount the donor wants to give. Contributions grow similarly to other investment assets. DAF can be used by any donor, regardless of the amount they want to plan for their DAF fund. DAFs are vehicles to prepare for regular future donations (grants) to charities while receiving a tax deduction at the time of the contribution to the DAF.

If you wish to discuss a DAF in greater detail, please contact Kim Cayer, Philanthropy Director, at (781-641-4741, extension 333) or by email at kim@childrensroom.org.
