Executive Director
Jon is the Executive Director of The Children’s Room. He is responsible for the organization’s overall strategic and operational leadership, including managing TCR staff, the Board of Directors, programming, communications and marketing, financial management, and development. One of the many reasons Jon believes in the mission of TCR is because his father died when he was a teenager, and he was unaware of places like The Children’s Room. Before joining The Children’s Room, Jon worked at Playworks, a leading national nonprofit focused on children’s well-being and education. He had a fifteen-year career at the organization, serving as the Vice President of Field Operations and Executive Director of Playworks New England. Jon holds a bachelor of science in political science and Spanish from Bates College. He also earned a master of science in sports leadership with a concentration in sports-based youth development from Northeastern University. When not at the Children’s Room, you can find Jon and his wife Katie with their three kids – Eliza, Will, and Jack – cheering on the sports field, enjoying a musical performance, or exploring the outdoors.
