Training for Professionals
As the leading nonprofit bereavement center in Massachusetts, we provide training for professional groups at schools, medical centers, community agencies, and other organizations in how children, teens, and families understand and cope with death and loss. We offer services that are proactive as well as responsive to crisis situations in your school or community. Training and workshops are offered on-site at your organization or at The Children’s Room. Any training can be customized to meet an organization’s needs.
Our current education services include:
Consultations
Professional consultations are provided when support is needed around a death or life-limiting illness affecting a family, an organization, or a community. We can work with staff to help support a particular family or child or the community as a whole.
Our professional consultations are typically one-hour sessions in which we provide psycho-education and strategies for coping with a loss.
Consultations are very personal, and we respond to the specific needs of each situation. These sessions are designed to support individuals and families impacted by death, life-threatening illness, or any other loss. There is a fee for this service.
In-Service Training
On-site training sessions are customized to meet your organization’s needs. We can also host your training at our center in Arlington, if timing and space needs align.
Training is priced by the hour with a two-hour minimum, plus travel expenses.
