Welcome Jon Gay, our new Executive Director
Following a comprehensive, holistic, multi-sector search led by our external sourcing agency, we are excited to share that Jon Gay is our new Executive Director for The Children’s Room. Jon most recently served as Executive Director, New England Region, and Vice President, National Field Operations for Playworks, Inc.
Playworks is a national nonprofit that partners with 2,000 schools and nonprofit organizations across the nation, focusing on education, youth development, and health outcomes. Jon’s track record at Playworks is quite impressive and reflects his well-rounded and well-developed skill set as a hard-working leader of teams and visionary strategic planner. He has a strong Massachusetts and national connections network, and his work trends toward organizational growth and breadth of reach.
“I am very excited to join The Children’s Room (TCR) team. I was introduced to TCR a few years ago and have followed the organization’s trajectory ever since. The organization’s grief support services are essential, and personally, I wish I had access when I lost my father as a teenager many years ago. Throughout the search process, I was inspired by the incredible and expert staff, the committed board, and the powerful testimonies of the individuals that The Children’s Room has impacted. I look forward to working with the staff, board, and volunteers to lead and grow the organization in this next chapter.”, shared Jon.
