A Race for Resilience: Chloe Marguils Runs Boston to Honor Her Mother and Support Grieving Families
Some people start running for fitness. Others for competition. For Chloe Marguils, running started as something much deeper—a tribute to resilience, love, and the unbreakable bond she shares with her mother. After witnessing her mom recover from a near-paralyzing accident and defy the odds by running a marathon, Chloe laced up her own shoes and never looked back. Now, she’s taking on one of the most iconic races in the world, running the Boston Marathon to support The Children’s Room and the grieving families who find strength through its community.
A Family Built on Strength and Support
Chloe’s journey as a runner began when she watched her mother defy the odds. After a near-paralyzing accident in high school, her mom spent years recovering through surgeries and physical therapy. But instead of stopping there, she set her sights on something extraordinary—running the New York City Marathon.
That decision changed everything.
“I started running because of her,” Chloe shared. “She gives me purpose and strength every day, and now we run almost every marathon together.”
Over the years, Chloe has completedover 20 marathons and ultras, side by side with the woman who inspired her to lace up her own running shoes. Running became more than a personal challenge—it became a way to celebrate resilience, connection, and the unwavering support that families provide for one another.
Running for a Greater Purpose
Chloe’s passion for running led her to another community built on love and support—The Children’s Room.
“TCR is a family, just like my own, that unconditionally loves and supports its members through their hardships,” she said.
For Chloe, running Boston isn’t just about her own journey. It’s about paying it forward, ensuring that children and families facing grief have the same kind of strength and encouragement that she’s been lucky enough to experience.
“I want to share my passion and love for helping others by running and fundraising for The Children’s Room,” she said.
Every Step for Families in Need
The Boston Marathon has always been special to Chloe, but this year, it carries even greater meaning. Not only is she running to support grieving children, but she’ll also be fulfilling a lifelong goal—running this iconic race alongside her mom before she’s no longer able to.
“She said she wants to run with me before she’s unable to run on her own two feet,” Chloe shared. “This is our moment, and I can’t think of a better way to do it than by supporting The Children’s Room.”
With every mile, Chloe is running for family—her own and the many others who find love and connection through The Children’s Room.
