A new program year is underway at The Children’s Room, and we’re excited to welcome five new members to our team.
From bringing our community together and helping families connect with support to strengthening donor relationships and the systems that keep TCR running, Indira Calvo, Alix Campbell, Meredith Joy, Nicole Linell, and Paige Nestell are stepping into new roles across the organization.
Get to know the newest members of Team TCR!
Indira Calvo, Development Coordinator, Events & Community Fundraising
Indira Calvo joins TCR’s Development team with a focus on bringing people together around our mission.
In her role, Indira supports TCR’s community fundraising initiatives, including the Community Walk, Annual Breakfast, and Boston Marathon team.
Before joining TCR, Indira earned bachelor’s degrees in Legal Studies and Environmental Displacement + Migration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her experience as an Undergraduate Admissions Fellow and with UMass Amherst’s Civic Engagement and Service Learning Program helped shape her approach to community outreach and relationship-building.
Outside of work, Indira enjoys reading, hiking, and embroidery.
Alix Campbell, Program Coordinator
Alix Campbell joins our Program team with a focus on information and referrals, resources, and developing events and workshops that extend TCR’s support into the community.
Alix is currently pursuing her MSW through Columbia School of Social Work, with a focus on child welfare and public policy. Her interest in child development and trauma drew her to the work of The Children’s Room.
In her new role, Alix will help families and community members connect with information, resources, and opportunities for support.
Meredith Joy, Operations Manager
Meredith Joy joins TCR with more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, most recently as Division Director at JF&CS of Greater Boston.
Throughout her career, Meredith has worked across human resources, budgeting, volunteer engagement, organizational systems, and cross-departmental initiatives, with a focus on building collaborative, people-centered organizations.
Her connection to TCR began well before joining our staff. Meredith has long admired TCR’s work and has referred families to our programs over the years. Now, as Operations Manager, she’s excited to support the people and systems that make that work possible.
Nicole Linell, Development Coordinator, Individual Giving & Special Projects
Nicole Linell joins TCR’s Development team with a focus on building and strengthening relationships with our individual supporters.
Nicole will help donors stay connected to TCR and the impact of their support through personal outreach, Center tours, mission updates, and other opportunities to engage with our work. She’ll also support special projects across the Development team.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from Northeastern University, where she was a Division I swimmer. She loves spending time outdoors and has recently taken up running.
Paige Nestell, Program Assistant
Paige Nestell joins TCR as our new Program Assistant, supporting the behind-the-scenes work that helps our Program team track and understand its reach.
Paige has a Bachelor of Science in Art Therapy from Lesley University and is pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Holistic Mental Health Counseling at Salve Regina University. Paige will help maintain program data and reporting, including monthly program activity and demographic information, while supporting other program and administrative needs.
She’ll also have a dual role this year as a member of our graduate intern team, learning alongside our Program staff while contributing to TCR’s day-to-day work.
Welcome to TCR!
Each of these roles supports a different part of TCR’s work, but they share something important: helping build the relationships, programs, and organizational capacity that make our work possible.
Please join us in giving Indira, Alix, Meredith, Nicole, and Paige a warm welcome to The Children’s Room!
