We at The Children’s Room are shocked and saddened that arson destroyed the main building of The Dougy Center in Portland, Oregon. The Dougy Center is the pioneer in the field of child bereavement, and their generosity of spirit has led to the creation of bereavement centers around the world (we recently heard about how a program in Japan used Dougy for inspiration).

News reports of the arson include photos to show the devastation. The Dougy Center was not the only target of arson in their community; a neighboring law office and other sites had recently been targets.
