Staff Highlight: Meet Our Philanthropy and Marketing Team
At The Children’s Room, connection happens in many ways through programs, partnerships, and the stories we share. With a $1.9 million annual budget, 99% of which is funded by philanthropy, and all programs and services offered free of charge, the work behind the scenes plays a critical role in ensuring families continue to receive the support they need.
This month, we’re highlighting the Philanthropy and Marketing Team, whose work helps make TCR’s programs possible by engaging our community, amplifying stories, and connecting generosity to impact.
Kim Cayer, Philanthropy Director, has been part of The Children’s Room since 2004, when she first joined as a volunteer supporting children in Peer Support Groups. Today, Kim leads all aspects of TCR’s fundraising efforts, providing vision and strategy that ensure families continue to find a caring place for grief and connection.
Micaela Sheinhait, Annual Giving Manager, oversees annual giving initiatives that strengthen the bridge between community generosity and sustainable program support. Her background in nonprofit leadership guides her work in bringing together donors, foundations, and corporate partners to further support TCR’s mission.
Stephanie Franzosa, Philanthropy Associate, manages the day-to-day details that keep fundraising efforts running smoothly, from processing donations to coordinating events and ensuring every act of giving is acknowledged with care and gratitude.
Zoe Laurente, Marketing Manager, leads TCR’s communications and storytelling efforts, bringing creativity and strategy to how the organization shares its mission with the community. She focuses on developing thoughtful, innovative ways to highlight the impact of TCR’s work across digital platforms, print materials, video, and campaigns so more people can understand what support looks like for children, teens, and families who are grieving.
Together, this team helps sustain the programs, stories, and relationships that make TCR’s mission possible. Their work ensures families are met with connection, consistency, and the support they need.
