Showing Up, Week After Week: Thank You to Our Volunteer Facilitators
As another program year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to recognize the dedicated Volunteer Facilitators who make our center-based peer support groups possible.
Week after week, our Volunteer Facilitators showed up as companions to children, teens, and families as they grieved. They listened, made room for every story, and helped create welcoming spaces where participants could connect with others who understand what they are going through.
This work requires patience, care, consistency, and a willingness to be present. Our volunteers bring all of that and more. Their steady presence helps participants feel supported as they explore and express their grief at their own pace and in their own unique ways.
“As we commemorate our 30th year of caring grief support, it has truly been a privilege to train and work alongside the caring Volunteers that have offered themselves as companions to our families. The generosity and commitment of time is heartfelt and priceless. It matters.” — Laurie Moskowitz-Corrois, Associate Program Director for Family and Expressive Arts
To every Volunteer Facilitator who supported our groups this program year: thank you. Thank you for the time you gave, the connections you helped nurture, and the care you brought to each group. We are deeply grateful for the role you play in The Children’s Room community.
