A Space to Grow, Connect, and Play: Renovating the Third Floor at The Children’s Room
This summer, The Children’s Room completed a renovation of our third floor, transforming it into a brighter, more dynamic space designed with children and teens in mind. Thanks to a generous gift, the new rooms now feel open, colorful, and full of energy. Every detail was chosen to create an environment that encourages creativity, connection, and joy.
The renovated spaces are flexible and inviting, allowing for everything from quiet reflection to lively group activities. Art supplies line the shelves, games fill the tables, and shared spaces now give children and teens room to connect and express themselves in ways that feel most natural to them.
As one staff member shared, “It’s amazing to see the energy the new space brings. The kids walk in and light up.”
And if you ask our teens, the new ping pong table might just be the most popular addition, a simple but powerful reminder that play can be one of the most meaningful ways to connect, even while carrying grief.
With the renovation complete, the third floor now reflects what The Children’s Room strives to provide every day: a space where children and teens who are grieving can feel comfortable being themselves where joy, remembrance, and support can coexist.
