We face many heart-wrenching decisions after the loss of a loved one. What to keep and what to part with, when to take off a wedding ring, and whether to involve your children in these decisions. You may feel like you should be following a timetable, especially when other people offer advice. Going through a loved one’s belongings may be painful, but it can also be healing and comforting. One thing you can be sure of — the group of parents in this discussion will not judge you. There truly is no right or wrong answer to any of these questions, and the best path is the one you and your family arrive at on your own, and in your own time.

The Parent Alumni Group (PAG) is an active group of “alumni” adults, who have been through our family-based support programs, and have remained connected to the mission of The Children’s Room. They meet regularly to support and give back to newly bereaved families in a variety of ways, including hosting regular discussion groups on topics experienced by grieving children and families.
Visit the Parent Alumni Group page to see future discussion topics and dates.

This discussion is open to the community, but space is limited.
Please email inquiries and RSVPs to jen@childrensroom.org.
